This week marks the 30th anniversary of Postpartum Support International (PSI)! I will be participating in one of their events, a Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMAD) discussion panel, this Friday, May 18th.
The mission of Postpartum Support International is to promote awareness, prevention and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing in every country worldwide.
It is the vision of PSI that every woman and family worldwide will have access to information, social support, and informed professional care to deal with mental health issues related to childbearing. PSI promotes this vision through advocacy and collaboration, and by educating and training the professional community and the public.

In celebration of PSI’s anniversary, they will be hosting multiple performances of Playing Monopoly with God and Other True Stories. Starring and created by Melissa Bangs, this one-woman show shares her journey through postpartum psychosis. Click the link above to learn more about the show and view a trailer. Read a review of the performance HERE.
[Melissa’s] hope is that by sharing her lived experience, boldly, with a dose of humor and self-love, others will be inspired to shed their shame, find forgiveness & tell their own true stories.
